It’s hard to believe that we’re already in 2021.  Last year was a whirlwind that had us engaged with a flurry of activities from meeting COVID protocols here at home as well as processing all the paperwork for the various countries and airlines we work with. We got through it with some wonderful support from our team, our customers and our partners, and thought we’d celebrate by taking a look back at some of the memories that shaped our business last year.

Even in the midst of a global pandemic, that didn’t stop us from helping hundreds of animals reach their new homes in 2020!  We helped animals of all kinds travel the globe by land and air, including cats, dogs, bunnies, hamsters, snakes and birds.

From domestic to transborder to international destinations, there was no shortage of cities these animals travelled to.  Here are just some of the places they landed in:

  • Melbourne
  • Los Angeles
  • Singapore
  • London
  • Beijing
  • Budapest
  • Manchester
  • Stockholm
  • Shanghai
  • Zurich
  • Bangkok
  • San Jose
  • Frankfurt
  • Edinburgh
  • Hong Kong
  • Manila
  • Hanoi
  • Taipei
  • Tokyo
  • Mexico City
  • Santiago
  • Sao Paulo
  • Delhi
  • Cairo
  • Doha
  • Bahrain
  • Abu Dhabi
  • Madrid
  • And many more!

Overcoming COVID-19 challenges

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic we experienced some challenges and delays in regard to travel, specifically with the U.S. due to closed borders.  When we were given the green light, our team worked tirelessly driving back and forth between the border to continue reuniting families by land.  We did so by following strict health and safety protocols, including the use of PPE, to ensure the safety of our staff and the animals we transported.  It may have been exhausting, but we would do it all over again knowing the joy it brings for both the animals and their pet parents.

Reuniting Australian families

We ended the year on a positive note by helping reunite dozens of Australian families with their beloved pets months after being apart.  We helped reunite 66 pets, specifically cats and dogs, by sponsoring and coordinating a charter flight from Vancouver to Melbourne in November with the help of Air Canada and JetPets in Australia.  It was an emotional reunion that we’ll always remember for years to come.  For more details on this story, please read our previous blog.  This initiative was so successful that we’re doing it again next month with 110 animals, and again in early March.

Thank you

Thank you for your support and patience in 2020!  It wasn’t without its challenges, but we managed to persevere through it and continue to reunite families with their cherished furry, feathery, and scaly friends.  We’re looking forward to seeing what 2021 brings and meeting more adorable animals along the way.
