Canadian Import Brokerage Services
Already have your pet’s travel planned but need help with the paperwork? Our Canadian import brokerage service is here to support you every step of the way.
Planning travel for your beloved animal companion but feeling unsure about the paperwork? That’s where our Canadian import brokerage services come in. In addition to helping you navigate the required documentation, we now offer support for pets arriving on KLM flights into Canada. We also assist pet owners with completing health documents for animals traveling as checked baggage, ensuring every step is covered.
Please note: While we do not coordinate flights and bookings for Canadian imports, we will be more than happy to help forward them on to their next destination through our comfort stop service. Complete the form below to provide us with all of the necessary information.
Vancouver
The typical process from arrival to release usually takes 2.5 to 3 hours after your companion animal’s flight lands. This timeframe largely depends on how busy Canada Customs is. In some cases, customs clearance may take several additional hours due to delays in the Canada Customs lineup.
Upon arrival, your pet is transferred from the aircraft to a designated holding area at the main terminal for import vet inspection. After the inspection is complete, your pet is moved to the airline cargo shed.
At this point, one of our staff members will be waiting at the airline facility to escort your pet to our pet transit centre, where they will receive immediate comfort and care. (If needed, soiled pet carriers are cleaned during this time.)
Meanwhile, our customs broker handles all paperwork, ensuring timely submission to Canada Customs for entry clearance.
Once the process is complete and your pet is cleared, they will be ready for collection from our on-site airport pet care facility.
Toronto
Toronto follows a similar process to Vancouver, with a few key differences.
Typically, from flight arrival to the release of your pet, the process takes 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on the volume at Canada Customs. Delays may occur if the customs lineup is particularly long.
When your pet arrives, they are transferred directly to the airline’s cargo shed. Once both your pet and their health documentation are logged into the system, our staff steps in to collect the necessary paperwork for Canada Customs processing.
From there, the customs entry package is submitted for review. An agriculture officer inspects the documentation and your pet before granting clearance.
Following this, our team retrieves your pet and brings them to our airport reception facility, where they receive comfort and care until you’re able to pick them up.
